General practitioners
You should contact a general practitioner if you become unwell during the period 08:00 - 16:00 on a weekday.
Among other things the doctor will be able to prescribe medicine for you. You can find a doctor by enquiring at the town hall or a
tourist bureau, for example.
You should use the emergency medical service if you suddenly become unwell or your illness worsens during the period 16:00 – 08:00 on weekdays and 24 hours a day on a Saturday, Sunday, or a public holiday.
You must call the emergency service before you go there.
You should use the central accident and emergency department (“centerskadestuen”), the accident and emergency unit(“skadestuefunktionen”) or the nurseled accident and emergency unit (“skadeklinikken”) if you are injured (e.g. a serious wound or a broken finger).
